KUCHING, 22 MAC – A significant milestone was reached today with the installation of the

process. The installation was witnessed by representatives of the Amanah Khairat Yayasan
Budaya Melayu Sarawak (AKYBMS) – Y.A. Datu Haji Abdul Razak Bin Mohd Tready,
Secretary and Chairman of the legislative Committee, YBhg. Datu Dr. Haji Sanib bin Haji
Said, General Manager of AKYBMS, NAIM Group’s Chairman, Datuk Amar Abdul Hamed
Sepawi, NAIM Group’s Managing Director, Datuk Hasmi Hasnan, consultants, and project
team members.

Impressively, the project is progressing ahead of schedule, a testament to the diligent efforts of
NAIM Engineering division. Their commitment ensures that the construction of Wisma
Melayu Sarawak proceeds smoothly, promising excellence in quality and adherence to the
timeline.

“We are thrilled to see Wisma Melayu Sarawak taking shape with such remarkable progress.
The successful installation of the roof trusses marks a significant milestone, bringing us one
step closer to realizing our vision for this vibrant hub of cultural exchange and community
engagement,” said Mr. Faisal Zaidin, Chief Operating Officer (Kuching Region) of NAIM
Group.

Initiated early in 2023, the construction of Wisma Melayu Sarawak is a venture that costs RM
73 million. The architectural inspiration draws from the Tengkolok — a Malay fabric headgear
worn in the olden times, which emphasizes the Malay heritage.

Upon completion, the two-storey building will stand as a hub of activity, boasting a main
convention hall accommodating 2,000 individuals, along with three seminar and meeting
rooms. Additionally, it will feature a Malay arts and culture gallery, exhibition space, and a
surau. The inclusion of a recreational park, adorned with mature jackfruit trees, adds a serene
touch, while a basement parking space provides ample space for 290 vehicles.

This ambitious undertaking not only embodies progress and development but also reflects a
dedication to enriching the cultural landscape and fostering community engagement in
Sarawak.
