KUCHING: Naim Group of Companies recently donated RM250,000 to 25 charity bodies in Kuching, Miri and Bintulu.

The donations were to ease the plight and burden of the less fortunate members of the community due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Padi Chan of Carnation Club thanked Naim for its donation.

“As we are an organisation established to help and support single mothers, we understand the plight of single mothers. The pandemic had made life very challenging for single mothers and their children.

“We really didn’t expect a corporate company to come to our assistance during such time when the business environment is equally challenging for corporate companies.

“We thank Naim for walking the walk with us so that together, we can show single mothers they will not walk alone. We also hope to see more corporate companies emulate this noble and warm gesture,” she said.

Another recipient was the Society for Parents of Children with Special Needs’ (Pibakat). Its president Zaidi Ahmad said Naim was no stranger to the organisation as the corporation had been involved with its yearly charity food fair.

He said Naim’s contributions over the years had enabled the society to provide human capital development programmes to meet the special needs of the young adults.

“We are indeed grateful for Naim’s help. As we focus on special young adults, we have dedicated training and development programmes to empower and enrich them, such as our laundry establishment and upcoming bakery at our Ong Tiang Swee premises.

“Naim’s contribution will help in setting up our bakery. These establishments are our initiatives in imparting life skills and other specialised skills to our young adults and hence, better prepare them for life and survival in general,” he said.

Senior citizen, Madzrol Abang from Bintulu Senior Citizen Service Centre (PPWE), said the contribution would add value in empowering its senior citizens’ outreach programme.

The donations were handed during concurrent ceremonies through live broadcast recently.
