Naim MD awarded Outstanding Entrepreneurship Award 2013

KUCHING: Naim Holdings Bhd’s (Naim) group managing director, Datuk Hasmi Hasnan, made Sarawak proud when he was awarded the ‘Outstanding Entrepreneurship Award’ by the Asia Pacific Entrepreneurship Awards 2013 Malaysia.

The award was conferred to him by Tan Sri Dr Fong Chan Onn, chairman of Enterprise Asia, the awarding body, at its Official Awards Presentation Ceremony and Gala Dinner held at the Shangri-La Hotel, Kuala Lumpur recently.

Hasmi said that the award was a testament of hardwork and perseverance of all Naim staff.

“It is important for me to say that although this award was conferred on me, it has been earned by every single person involved in the Naim Group,” Hasmi said.

Hasmi went on to say that although Naim is one of the leading developers and contractors in Malaysia, what was more important was the journey to get to the top, rather than the success itself.

“From our early days in Miri, Sarawak, we have come a long way. We have met with challenges and fought uphill battles.

“These challenges were our teachers and have taught us well.

“We will continue to learn and raise the bar.

“We will also continue to operate with an awareness of the interest of the environment and the community around us,” he added.

The prestigious Asia Pacific Entrepreneurship Awards is a world-class awards recognising and honouring business leaders who have shown outstanding performance and tenacity in developing successful businesses within the region.

Organised by Enterprise Asia, a non-governmental organisation for entrepreneurship and supported by local governments and businesses, the awards aim to band leading entrepreneurs across the region to spur greater innovation, fair practices and growth in entrepreneurship.

The awards are now presented annually in 12 countries across Asia, and are the largest and most stringent awards of its kind in the region.

More than 400 local and overseas guests attended the Asia Pacific Entrepreneurship Awards 2013 event.
