NAIM Firefighting Squad Joins Frontliners to Combat Bushfire in Permyjaya, Miri

Miri, 26 July 2025 – NAIM’s in-house firefighting squad has stepped up in full support of Bomba’s firefighting efforts to contain and manage a bushfire incident that broke out recently in Permyjaya, Miri.

Upon receiving word of the fire, NAIM’s emergency response team was swiftly mobilised to assist the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) on the ground. The team deployed both manpower and equipment, including drones for aerial surveillance and patrols, to aid in the suppression and containment of the blaze.

NAIM has been working closely with Bomba and other frontline responders in the area to provide on-the-ground assistance and continues to maintain a state of 24/7 readiness in case of further developments. Surveillance efforts have also been ongoing to ensure that the area remains secure and that any potential flare-ups are quickly detected and controlled.

While the official cause of the fire has yet to be confirmed, authorities have indicated that open burning and human activity in dry conditions are likely contributors to the growing number of bushfires in the region.

“Our team remains on standby around the clock. We’re fully committed to supporting the authorities and the people of Miri during this incident,” said Haliza Segar, Regional General Manager (Miri), NAIM Holdings Berhad.

NAIM remains committed to supporting public safety efforts and stands ready to assist the authorities wherever needed. This effort reflects the company’s broader commitment to community wellbeing, environmental responsibility, and close collaboration with local and state emergency response agencies.
