International Hotel Chain Fairfield by Marriott Opens in Bintulu

BINTULU: The much-awaited Fairfield By Marriott Bintulu Paragon hotel has opened its doors to the public.

The first hotel within Naim Group of Companies, Fairfield By Marriott Bintulu Paragon is also Bintulu’s first international hotel.

The hotel opening on Saturday at Naim Street Mall Bintulu Paragon was officiated by Bintulu Development Authority general manager Rodziah Morshidi.

Fairfield By Marriott is a global leader in the mid-tier hotel segment, and is Marriott International’s second largest distributed brand with more than 750 hotels worldwide.

The Fairfield By Marriott Bintulu Paragon features 230 tastefully designed accommodation rooms, complemented by a host of facilities for its guests.

Hotel general manager Derrick Felix said the opening of the hotel will set a benchmark in hospitality service in Bintulu.

“Upon commencement of operation, Fairfield By Marriott Bintulu Paragon will help bring world-class hospitality service standards to Bintulu, boosting Bintulu’s and ultimately, Sarawak’s appeal as a destination for business and leisure travellers.

“With Bintulu’s visitor demand increasing due to the influx of investment into Samalaju via the Sarawak Corridor of Renewable Energy (SCORE) development, the opening of Fairfield By Marriott Bintulu Paragon is timely to cater to this growing demand,” said Derrick.

Meanwhile, Naim’s Group deputy managing director Christina Wong said as the hotel is part of the Group’s flagship Naim Bintulu Paragon integrated development, it will help create a more vibrant business and retail environment within the development.
