Naim Ranked In Top 30 Of The EDGE Malaysia’s Top Property Developers 2005

Naim Cendera Holdings Berhad (NAIM) has been ranked as one of Malaysia’s best players in property development sector as the results of top 30 rankings in The Edge Malaysia Top Property Developers Awards 2005 was announced recently.

Naim, the developer for the fast growing townships of Bandar Baru Permyjaya in Miri and Desa Ilmu in Kota Samarahan – is ranked 14th in the list and is the only Sarawak-based property developer to be included in this year’s list derived from the consumers’ perspective.

According to the organizers, The Edge Malaysia Top Property Developers Awards 2005 benchmarks the country’s best players who are chosen for both their qualitative and quantitative attributes.

This is also the first time Naim has been ranked in the top 30 list for last year it was only listed as one of the top 20 property developers in Malaysia in Quantitative Attributes category.

In this year’s Quantitative Attributes category, Naim is ranked 12th while in the Qualitative Attributes category, it is ranked 25th.

Those listed in awards are not only outstanding for their size and profitability but also they showcase exemplary quality in numerous areas such as timely delivery, innovation, value creation for buyers and creativity.

Specifically, the annual exercise is based on five quantitative and qualitative attributes and this year’s ranking covered all the 102 companies from all over Malaysia that are listed in the property sector of the Main and Second Boards of Bursa Malaysia.

The judging panel for the qualitative attributes consists of representatives from the International Real Estates Federation (FIABCI), Real Estate and Housing Developers’ Association (REHDA), FIABCI Asia Pacific and The Edge.

Even it is based in Sarawak, Naim is one of the seven new developers who have moved into the overall top 30 positions.

The points awarded for the Quantitative Attributes involved the application of shareholders’ funds, group’s revenue, group’s pre tax profit, gearing (total short term and long term debt divided by shareholders’ funds) and cash, as well as cash equivalents.

The five qualitative attributes are namely product quality (service, finishing, timeliness), innovation and creativity (product marketing), value creation for buyers (capital appreciation, image and market perception (credibility, management style, effectiveness) and expertise (management and experience).

Earlier this year, Naim was also announced as one of the largest property developers in Sarawak based on the Sarawak Property Market Report 2004 study made by CH William, Talhar and Yeo Sdn Bhd.
