Naim inks deal for a digital PermyJaya township

Miri: Naim Holdings Bhd is poised to turn Permyjaya Newtownship as the first digital township for Miri City.
As part of the commitment, Naim yesterday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Guangdong Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) Technology Service Center and SmartTag Solutions Bhd for the establishment of the project.

The signing ceremony was at Naim office in Desa Pujut, Miri. Naim Holdings Berhad Deputy Managing Director, Dr. Sharifuddin Abdul Wahab in a joint press conference said the company is looking forward to the MoU collaboration in order to ensure the aspiration to push PermyJaya into a digital township in the near future a reality.

“The signing of MoU today reflected Naim’s commitment to ink the beginning of commitment towards the implementation of digital township,” he stated and adding the delegation from China is going to share their expertise in Information Communication Technology (ICT).

The Director of MyICMS, Technology & Standards Division of Malaysia Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC), Yow Lock Sen has given his total support towards the successful implementation of the digital project.

With almost 100 percent of PermyJaya area linked up with broadband and wireless internet coverage, Yow said it is possible to make Permyjaya the first digital township for Miri.

The expert from China is going to design a digital layout for PermyJaya thus providing the technical support.
In addition to that, he also informed that the delegation of China from Ministry Information Industry Commission (MIIC) is also looking at the possibility to have a Chinese Medical Center in Miri.

The project detail he said has yet to be finalized but the delegation is very keen to have Miri as their first Chinese Medical Centre in the country. Meanwhile earlier, Dr. Sharifuddin briefed the delegation on the current progress of infrustructure project at PermyJaya.

The delegation was led by Associate Director Economy and Industry Commission Guangdong Province, Zou Sheng. Also present were Director of Smartag Solutions Bhd, Kenny Sim and Director of Guangdong RFID Technology Service Center Dr. Li Ying.
