Naim Doubles Defects Liability Period On Its Properties

Leading Malaysian home builder and contractor, Naim Holdings Berhad (Naim), is offering an extended defects liability (or warranty) period for all properties developed by them to 24 months.
Announcing this at the launching of the Group’s “Zero Defects, My Priority” campaign on Thursday, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Datuk Hasmi Hasnan said the defects liability period for all properties built by Naim will be extended by a further 12 months from the normal statutory requirement of 12 months, meaning they will make good any defects for a total period of 24 months following handing over of properties to their buyers. He believes Naim is the only developer from East Malaysia to offer this extended warranty period.

He added that this extended period will be applicable for all properties sold from today, saying that Naim is able to make this pledge as they are confident of the quality of their products and from now on are aiming to achieve “zero defects” for all their properties.

Datuk Hasmi was speaking at the launching of Naim’s “Zero Defects, My Priority” campaign held at the Group’s new Kuching Branch premises at Rock Commercial Centre, Jalan Green in Kuching. Present at the launching was Chairman Datuk Abdul Hamed Sepawi, members of the Board of Directors, staff, consultants, contractors and suppliers.

Addressing those present, he stated that the objective of the campaign is to make quality a culture among the staff and all their stakeholders. He reminded the staff that for most of their customers, buying a property is a “once in a lifetime” investment and “we must not disappoint them. We must deliver a product of the quality they expect”.

Following the ceremony, all staff of the Group present signed a pledge to make zero defects their priority.

The giant board will be placed prominently at the entrance to their office at Jalan Green to act as a constant reminder to them to deliver quality products and services to their customers.

Naim has since commencement of operations in 1996 built more than 15,000 units of houses in their flagship developments at Bandar Baru Permyjaya in Miri, Desa Ilmu in Kota Samarahan and the Riveria satellite township in Kuching’s southern corridor. Its focus on excellent quality and timely delivery is a philosophy that has earned Naim a host of industry awards, including the prestigious Builder of the Year Award from the Construction Industry Development Board. It remains the only Company from East Malaysia to win the award.
