NAIM Delivers 105 Homes at Desa Damai Ahead of Schedule, Setting Quality Benchmark in Permyjaya

Miri, 14 December 2025 — Excitement and smiles filled Desa Damai in Permyjaya today as 105 happy homeowners received the keys to their dream homes. NAIM Holdings Berhad (“NAIM” or “the Group”) officially marked the handover, a milestone that underscores the Group’s commitment to quality construction, timely delivery, and its role in nurturing vibrant, thriving communities in Miri City.

The handover ceremony, officiated by YB Dato Sri Lee Kim Shin, Minister for Transport Sarawak, saw 68 Lilium units and 37 Valeria units officially handed over to homeowners. Desa Damai, which commenced in 2023, has completed 138 homes to date, achieving completion two months ahead of schedule.

The project has also been recognised with a 4-Star CIDB QLASSIC Certification, reflecting NAIM’s adherence to national construction quality standards and its commitment to delivering homes that meet stringent workmanship benchmarks.

Datuk Hasmi Bin Hasnan, Group Managing Director of NAIM Holdings Berhad, said the early completion and certification reflected the Group’s disciplined execution and focus on quality:

“Completing Desa Damai ahead of schedule while achieving a 4-Star QLASSIC rating is a testament to our teams’ commitment to quality and delivery. Looking ahead, NAIM plans to develop approximately 5,000 affordable housing units in the coming years to meet strong demand. These projects will be carried out in phases, subject to demand and other considerations, ensuring we continue to provide well-planned and sustainable communities for Sarawak residents.”

Datuk Amar Abdul Hamed Bin Haji Sepawi, Group Chairman of NAIM Holdings Berhad, added:

“NAIM remains committed to making it a tradition to deliver excellence and provide exceptional service to our customers. We constantly encourage our management to be proactive and aggressive in offering care and support that enhances the homeownership experience.”

Speaking at the ceremony, YB Dato Sri Lee Kim Shin acknowledged NAIM’s long-standing role in the Permyjaya area, noting that the company’s presence has become synonymous with the township’s development: “When you think of Permyjaya, you think of NAIM Holdings Berhad,” he said.

Beyond housing delivery, the Minister also highlighted NAIM’s proactive role in supporting community safety initiatives in Permyjaya, including regular patrols conducted in collaboration with local authorities.

“NAIM is not only developing Permyjaya; they have been a reliable partner in helping to monitor and enhance safety in the area. Their hourly patrols have contributed to improved security, and this is an effort the government is willing to continue working on together,” he added.

The Minister further expressed hope for Miri’s continued growth as a sustainable, green, and smart city, supported by responsible developers and strong public-private cooperation.

As part of its commitment to the wider community, NAIM also presented a token of support to the Malaysian Red Crescent Society (MRCS) Sunflower Centre in Miri, an organisation that provides therapy and care for children with special needs. This contribution reflects NAIM’s dedication to giving back to the community and supporting initiatives that make a positive impact on the lives of others.

With 30 years of experience and over 23,000 homes delivered across Sarawak, NAIM continues to focus on building well-planned, quality townships supported by thoughtful design, modern infrastructure, and community-centred initiatives. Desa Damai remains open for public viewing daily, including on public holidays, allowing prospective homeowners to explore the show units and experience the vibrant community firsthand.

Keys to New Beginnings at Desa Damai
On 14 December 2025, the Desa Damai Housekey Handover Ceremony brought together 105 families in Miri to celebrate the keys to their new homes. Nestled within the larger Bandar Baru Permyjaya township, Desa Damai has been growing since 2023, blending thoughtful design with modern conveniences. The event was officiated by YB Dato Sri Lee Kim Shin, Minister for Transport Sarawak, and marked the official handover of 68 Lilium units and 37 Valeria units to excited homeowners.

Homeowner’s Joy and Anticipation
For 29-year-old Mr Tony, the key symbolizes a gateway to a future he had long envisioned. Standing inside his new Lilium unit at Desa Damai, he paused, imagining his parents moving in with him one day and the life he would build once he married. Behind him, his children and relatives weren’t yet here, but the space already hummed with possibility.
“I really like this house because it offers great value for money, and the location is ideal,” Tony shared with a smile. “There’s a mall, hospital, and school nearby. It’s convenient, and I can see my family growing here.”

For many, the moment was deeply personal:
“I call this house MySarang, it’s where I will build my future and livelihood. The NAIM team was always patient and responsive, guiding me through every step. Today, we didn’t just receive keys; we received a home where we can grow, celebrate, and create lasting memories.” said Ms Josephine Nyalia, a first-time homeowner in a Lilium unit. She had fallen in love with the design during her showroom visit and expressed heartfelt gratitude to the NAIM staff who guided her throughout the purchase process.

Building a Community Beyond Homes
The ceremony was filled with simple, yet memorable moments; smiles, family photos, and the shared joy of neighbours beginning new chapters together. Beyond bricks and mortar, Desa Damai is becoming a community. Children ran ahead exploring spaces, while parents discussed schools, shops, and everyday conveniences nearby. The sense of belonging was evident even before the families officially moved in.

Located in Bandar Baru Permyjaya, Desa Damai sits within a mature township that balances accessibility with tranquility. For many homeowners, this combination of convenience, comfort, and community was decisive. “Even before moving in, it already feels like a neighbourhood,” said one resident, echoing the sentiments of several families.

The handover also included a gesture that extended care beyond housing. NAIM proudly presented a donation to the Malaysian Red Crescent Society (MRCS) Sunflower Centre in Miri, an organisation providing therapy and care for children with special needs. The contribution underscored the idea that building communities isn’t just about homes, it’s about supporting people and creating inclusive, thriving environments.

NAIM’s Legacy and Vision
Desa Damai’s development is part of NAIM’s 30-year track record, which has seen more than 23,000 homes delivered across Sarawak. Yet at this event, the spotlight remained on the families, their hopes, and the tangible joy of stepping into a home they can truly call their own.
For the homeowners of Desa Damai, that simple truth captured everything and hinted at the many stories that these walls will hold in the years to come.
