NAIM Creates History: MCIEA 2004 Awards

Sarawak based property and construction company, NAIM CENDERA SDN BHD (NCSB), 100% owned subsidiary of Naim Cendera Holdings Berhad (NCHB) won the prestigious Malaysian Construction Industry Excellence Awards 2004 (MCIEA 2004) for the third consecutive year at the national level.

The Sarawak company won the project award for the Medium Engineering Category based on quality workmanship, work discipline, timely completion of project and good and sound management and financial systems for the successful construction of the Miri Go-Kart Racing Track, Sarawak. This makes it the first construction company to win the Award 3 years in a row and this time, has also won the coveted Builder Of The Year Award.

The “Builder Of The Year Award” is awarded on the basis of a company’s excellent records, on timely delivery of projects, consistently high quality worksmanship, excellent safety and health records, care for the community and environment and also the overall excellent financial achievements.

Previously, NAIM, has also won awards, namely, The CIDB Best Contractor Award for Institutional Building Project (2002), and The Malaysian Construction Industry Excellence Awards in the Medium Scale Project Awards (2003).

The MCIEA 2004 Award Malaysia’s most pretigious awards for the construction industry is brought by the Construction Industry Development Board Malaysia (CIDB) in collaboration with industry professionals. The award is an effort to recognize the outstanding achievements of those involved in the Malaysian construction industry. These national awards are the symbol of recognition to individuals, teams and organizations who have demonstrated excellence and creativity in the construction sector.

At the helm of MCIEA 2004 and representing the whole spectrum of the construction industry is the Steering Committee, which provides the overall framework for the conduct of the awards. The panel of judges have diligently set the benchmark of excellence in the judging process. Winners for each category is verified and endorsed by the Central Secretariat of MCIEA. This reflects CIDB’s seriousness in sustaining quality, integrity and prestige of the awards.
