Naim Cendera Receives LOA For 2nd Phase Of ILP Worth RM33 Million

aim Cendera Holdings Berhad wholly-owned unit, Naim Cendera Sdn Bhd (NAIM) recently received a Letter of Award for the construction on the Phase 2 of Miri’s Institut Latihan Perindustrian (ILP) worth RM33 million.

The ILP is a modern and one-stop vocational training institute for school leavers and is sited on a 60-acre land at Bandar Baru Permyjaya Miri. Bandar Baru Permyjaya is also Naim’s flagship property development project in Miri.

The handing over of the site is November 21 and the contractual date for the completion is on February 2007.

Phase 2 consists of 53 units of staff quarters, a hostel block for 200 male students, 2 faculties to accommodate 270 students, a hockey field, a grand stand and 5 different types of recreation facilities and a surau.

Once completed, all the faculties are to be equipped with modern IT and internet as well as multimedia facilities while all the workshops will be equipped with up-to-date laboratories and skills training equipments.

In 2004, Naim was awarded the contract for the construction and completion of Phase 1 by the Jabatan Tenaga Manusia of Ministry of Human Resources. The contract works for Phase 1 was worth RM76 million.

Works on the project commenced in August 2004 and is expected to be completed at the end of December which is ahead of the February 2006 deadline.

Earlier in August this year, Naim received three LOAs worth RM507 million for the construction of the road and bridge over Batang Balingian with a contract value of RM35 million; the new State Assembly Building with contract value of RM296 million; and the upgrading of the RM176.5 million Julau/Sibu Road, the last two being awarded to joint ventures.
