Naim Cendera A Good Corporate Citizen: Adenan

Natural Resources and Environment Minister Dato Sri Adenan Satem praised Naim Cendera Group of Companies for its charitable work and urged other members of the corporate sector to emulate it.

Being a responsible member of the corporate sector, Naim Cendera has taken the lead to lessen the plight and burden of the less fortunate members of society”, said Adenan.

The minister was closing the Naim Cendera Charity Golf 2004 tourney and prize presentation ceremony at Damai Golf and Country Club (DGCC) on Saturday.

While complementing the Naim Cendera for a job well done, he urged the company to organize similar events on a regular basis.

He said if all members of the society were willing to extend a helping hand to assist the poor and the unfortunate, it would certainly contribute towards reducing the poverty level.

“Because of your kind help and generosity, the burden of the less fortunate is lessened. The rich must help the poor and likewise the strong must help the weak,” he said.

The one-day event was participated by over 100 golfers.

Earlier, Naim’s group managing director Datuk Hasmi Hasnan, who is also the chief executive officer, announced that the targeted amount to be collected and donated towards charity was RM 250,000 in which RM 150,000 would be for charitable organizations and charity work to be undertaken in Kota Samarahan.

Proceeds from the charity golf amounted to RM 66,300, making the total amount received standing at RM 144,300 while another RM 78,000 were pledges from companies and organizations.
