Good Response Towards Inaugural Naim Gawai Festival 2006

KUCHING: The inaugural Naim Gawai Festival attracted hundreds of people who attended the launching ceremony held on June 11 at Wisma Naim at Jalan Rock. Among the highlights of the day were the ‘Let’s Harvest’ Food Fair and the Children’s Colouring Contest which was eagerly participated by the young ones.

The ‘Let’s Harvest’ Food Fair that took after the Gawai theme of harvesting, was a main attraction with over 15 food stalls offering various items like fruits, rojak, satay and other mouth watering local delicacies. The stalls were crowded with people choosing and redeeming their food with coupons given to them for free.

Meanwhile the Children’s Colouring Contest attracted over one hundred entries with the theme was ‘NAIM My Dream Home’. The prize giving ceremony was held on the same day and winners of the contest were given exciting goodie boxes.

For the upcoming event on 18 June (Sunday), the public are welcome to participate in the fun filled ‘Like Father Like Children’ contest in conjunction with the world celebrated Father’s Day.
