Calling For Applicants – TABUNG AMANAH NAIM SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS 2008

Members of the public are cordially to submit their application for the scholarship awards offered by Tabung Amanah Naim for the academic year 2008.

This is the third year the scholarship awards are being offered to deserving students who excelled in their Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) / Sijil Tinggi Pelajaran Malaysia (STPM) examinations and are taking up undergraduate courses in local universities.

Candidates must also be those who are taking up courses in either the following fields; Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, I.T, Housing, Building and Planning, Quantity Survey, Property Management, Architecture and Business Administration.

Speaking to reporters during a gathering held at Telang Usan Hotel recently, Naim Cendera Holdings Berhad (NAIM) Deputy Managing Director, Dr Sharifuddin Abdul Wahab expressed hope for more deserving students from outstation to apply.

Todate, a total of 10 students were awarded with the scholarship of which two are now working full time with Naim while the rest are still pursuing their studies at the following universities:
1. University of Technology Malaysia (UiTM), Skudai, Johor
2. International Islamic University Malaysia (UIA), Kuala Lumpur
3. University Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN), Kuala Lumpur
4. University Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS), Kota Samarahan

He said the goals and objectives of the scholarships are as follows:

To provide financial assistance for deserving individuals to pursue their tertiary education.

To compliment future requirements for quality workforce needed by NAIM Group who may assume roles as future managers, unit leaders and technical staff
“This scheme is established as part of our Community and Social Responsibility (CSR) Program” he said on the scholarship awards which were first introduced in 2005 and it covers full academic fees, lodging and books etc.

The requirements for the candidates are as follows: :

Candidates must be of age 21 year and below.

Open only to candidates from public universities and other institutions of higher learning (IPTAs). Private colleages and universities are not included.

Candidates with STPM results with minimum of 2As and 1B including a pass in General Studies.

Possess strong leadership qualities, high scholastic achievements and notable participation in extra curricular and sporting activities.

Not bonded or holding any scholarships or receiving financial assistance from any other organizations or bodies.

The selection process shall include interviews, essay writing, numerical questionnaire, personality profiling and face to face interview.
