School Receives Help from NAIM, Permy Development

MIRI: Naim Group of Companies and Permy Development Sdn Bhd each contributed RM50,000 to SJK Chung Hua Tudan here recently.

The fund was meant for the school’s multipurpose hall project. The mock cheques were presented by Naim Holdings Bhd chairman Datuk Amar Abdul Hamed Sepawi and Permy Development director Datu Abang Helmi Abang Ikhwan to SJK Chung Hua Tudan board chairman Datuk Patinggi Dr George Chan, during a recent ceremony witnessed by Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg.

In a statement, Naim Miri regional general manager Patrick Kong said the group had always taken the community’s interests into consideration.

“We have been active in providing assistance to Chinese schools in Sarawak since 2005. To step up our assistance to Chinese schools, we launched the Naim Foundation Academic Excellence Programme in 2016 for secondary schools.

“This programme rewards high-performing and well-rounded students overall, and provides financial assistance to deserving students. A total of 17 secondary schools in Sarawak are under the programme, some of which are Chinese schools,” he said, adding that Naim regarded students as the nation’s hope for the future.

“This is our way of assisting and motivating them to be the best that they can be, in line with our philosophy of building value in every way for our communities.

“We hope that our contribution could help SJKC Chung Hua Tudan and we wish its board of management, principal, teachers and students all the best in their future endeavours,” added Kong.
