Tabung Naim Scholarships For 5 UNIMAS Undergraduate From Engineering Faculty

For the second consecutive year, Naim Foundation awarded another 10 scholarships amounting to RM100,000 to those who have passed their Sijil Tinggi Pelajaran Malaysia (STPM) with good grades and under graduates entering their first year at the local public institutions of higher learning.

Launched in 2005 by Naim Cendera Group, this year’s recipients among others include 5 undergraduates from the Engineering Faculty of Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS).

The awarding of scholarships through Naim Foundation is part of the Group’s community related policies of helping excellent Sarawakian students to further their studies at local universities.

It is also part of Naim’s mission of contributing back to the society that nurtures the Group and to answer the government’s call for the private sector to contribute towards quality human capital.

The handing over ceremony was held on 21st August 2006 at UNIMAS’ Faculty of Engineering and was witnessed by the university’s Deputy Vice Chancellor of UNIMAS (Academic & Internationalization), Professor Dr Mohd Azib Salleh and Dean of Engineering, Dr Azhaili Bahanen.

The recipients for the scholarships are Awangku Moslaini Bin Awang Shariee and Akmal Hisyam Bin Ruduan who are both from Miri and studying Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering at UNIMAS while Ryan Hardin, Rostant Rawlt Ak Mambang and Watson Ak Dagang are all studying Civil Engineering.
