Environmental Responsibility

We assume environmental stewardship by integrating environmental preservation measures into our daily operations. In addition to the normal regulatory requirements, we incorporate various measures among others, utilising scrap materials in construction projects, highly scrutinised chemical storage and waste disposal to prevent pollution and stringent enforcement of related policies via ‘surprise checks’ by HSE-related committees.

We also engage our stakeholders in collaborative efforts such as the ‘Environmental Conservation and Awareness Programme’ with the Forest Department Sarawak, and our communities in activities such as ‘gotong-royong’, disaster relief/post disaster clean-up, reduction of carbon foot print and many others.

We are delighted that our efforts have been duly acknowledged as we were adjudged the winner of the Sarawak Chief Minister’s Environmental Award (CMEA) in 2010, 2012 and 2014 (Large Enterprise category).

Our Story

NAIM Raised More Than RM67,000 For Charity

Naim Group of Companies have raised over RM67,000 for various charitable organisations and churches in Bintulu recently, through its first Christmas Charity Bazaar at Naim Bintulu Paragon.

The Bazaar which ended on Dec 23, attracted huge crowds to the mall where numerous interesting festive activities were held throughout the 9-day event. These activities include caroling, choirs, balloon sculpture giveaways, ballet performances and live charity concerts featuring the renowned Nading Rhapsody, Jerry Kamit and Zee Avi.

According to Naim’s Regional General Manager for Bintulu, Abang Mahathir Mohamed, the Bintulu community were especially interested in the benefit concerts. “The music goers were thrilled to see these Sarawakian born artistes who have achieved so much in the international music industry perform here in Bintulu.  We have always had great admiration and appreciation for local talents and we are glad to be able to provide this platform where their performance could entertain the local community and at the same time benefit those who are less fortunate,” he said.

In its bid to continue to create awareness of the importance of ‘giving’, Naim has also organised a blood donation drive at its mall and managed to raise a total of 21 pints of blood for the local hospital.

‘It’s the season of giving after all and we wanted to do what we can to help foster a better and generous community through all these charitable events,’ Mahathir said.

Mahathir also thanked members of the public who supported its ‘Giving Tree’ campaign which managed to gather a total of 270 gifts for orphans and children born with autism. These gifts consist of back-to-school supplies, books and books were presented to the designated charitable bodies during its closing ceremony on 23 Dec.

Also present at the event during the cheque presentation ceremony was BDA general manager Pn. Rodziah Morshidi and Naim’s deputy managing director, Christina Wong.
