BINTULU: Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud took some time after the Sarawak Day celebration yesterday to visit the soon-to-be completed Fairfield by Marriott Bintulu Paragon.
The hotel is located within Naim Group of Companies’ flagship development called Naim Bintulu Paragon, Sarawak’s largest integrated development.
On hand to welcome Taib and his wife were Naim’s Group managing director Datuk Hasmi Hasnan, senior general manager for Property Investment and Management Caroline Yeo, and hotel general manager Derrick Felix.
Fairfield by Marriott is a global leader in the mid-tier hotel segment, and is Marriott International’s
second-largest distributed brand with more than 750 hotels worldwide.
Upon completion, Fairfield By Marriott Bintulu Paragon will feature 230 tastefully designed accommodation rooms, complemented by a host of facilities for its guests.
The hotel will be the first Fairfield by Marriott Hotel in Malaysia, and also Bintulu’s first international hotel.
Hasmi said the upcoming hotel will set a benchmark in hospitality service in Bintulu.
“Upon commencement of operation, Fairfield By Marriott Bintulu Paragon will help bring world-class hospitality service standards to Bintulu, boosting Bintulu’s and ultimately, Sarawak’s appeal as a destination for business and leisure travellers.
“Marriott International’s presence in Naim Bintulu Paragon also demonstrates our commitment in making Naim Bintulu Paragon an iconic integrated development not only in Bintulu but also in Sarawak, by featuring the largest and longest street mall in Sarawak, Sarawak’s tallest condominium tower called ‘The Peak’, the innovative Small Office Versatile Office (Sovo) and now, Malaysia’s first Fairfield By Marriott Hotel at Bintulu,” Hasmi said.
